Green Tips
There are many ways to use fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and other ‘super foods’ to really help energise and boost your diet and your overall health. They can be included in fabulous ways to create beautiful and delicious drinks and dishes.
Here are some quick tips for putting the spring back into your Winter!
- make a green Smoothie for all the family to enjoy at breakfast – it’s a wonderful way of helping them get their 5-a-day portions of fruit and veg! Try spinach or kale with pineapple and mango – they won’t believe what they’re drinking! Use seasonal ingredients whenever you can – they’re always fresher!
- Some wonderful and extremely healthy kales are available in our local shops and local farms over the winter – many people aren’t sure how to use it but it can be superb for juicing, blending and to make the perfect tender raw kale salad.
- If you’re suffering from candida, avoid sweet fruit, starchy and fermented food and liquids such as vinegar, beer and wine. Eat or drink plenty of greens as they are rich in chlorophyll and help alkalize your body.
- As an alternative, low GI sweetener, use Sweet Freedom natural fruit extract syrup available from TheGreenLife.co.uk website or xylitol, derived from the birch tree (from good Health Food Shops).
- Use organic cocoa blended with banana to make a healthy chocolate shake and experiment with milks such as almond milk in order to avoid dairy milk which many people can’t drink.
